Conkling and Lewis completed the historic renovation of the 1897 structure featuring Spanish influences that include a carved balcony and finely detailed column capitals in 1996. Upon completion, the building was named winner of the Florida Trust Preservation Award and granted the Historic Florida Keys Foundation Preservation Award of Excellence.
